An Odd Gap Filled

When I was filing some photos of Stellar’s Jays a few weeks ago I noticed that I had no pictures of Blue Jays anywhere in my collection.  Not even bad photos.  They’re common birds year-round in our area, they visit the feeder, and they’re about as gregarious as birds get, so I really have no excuse.

Several Jays stopped by the house this weekend, so I grabbed a few quick shots when I had a moment.  Here’s the best of them:

It’s not perfect (shot through window glass), but it’s far better than no image at all!
