This is such a great butterfly- I’d never managed to capture decent images before. The light wasn’t perfect on the closed-wing photo but they still came out well enough.

The shrubby part of Centennial Woods (the powerline cut between Centennial Field and Patchen Road) was bustling with insects yesterday. I picked up two lifer odonates and a lifer butterfly! It’s the first sunny day with no wind we’ve had in a couple of weeks, so the bugs were out in force.
