A Brief Postscript

By josh • Nature, Wildlife • 31 Mar 2014

Much to my delight, the female cardinal with a bill deformity that was a regular at our place in late 2012 returned to my yard this week.  She still doesn’t visit the feeder, but she’s been foraging on the ground with the squirrels and the juncos and the chipmunk.  I’m glad to see that she’s finding a way to survive!  (Survival rates for Northern Cardinals are estimated to be 60-65%)
